About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Multi-Trades / Multi-Skills Lecturer to join our teaching team and inspire the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality practical and theory-based training across a range of construction and building trades. You will support learners to develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence required to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study.
The successful candidate will have strong practical experience within the construction industry and a passion for sharing their knowledge and expertise with others.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons across multiple trade areas.
- Teach and assess learners in accordance with relevant qualifications, awarding-body requirements and industry standards.
- Demonstrate safe and effective working practices across a range of construction disciplines.
- Support learners to develop practical skills, technical knowledge and employability skills.
- Prepare teaching materials, practical activities, assessments and learning resources.
- Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
- Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, achievement and progress.
- Ensure workshops, tools and equipment are maintained and used safely.
- Promote high standards of health and safety and professional behaviour.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and other stakeholders to ensure an excellent learner experience.
- Keep up to date with developments, technologies and practices within the construction industry.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has substantial practical experience within the construction or building trades.
- Has experience across multiple trade disciplines, such as carpentry/joinery, brickwork, plumbing, electrical installation, plastering, painting and decorating, or other relevant areas.
- Has excellent practical and communication skills.
- Is confident demonstrating practical skills in a workshop environment.
- Can engage and motivate learners with different abilities and backgrounds.
- Is organised, reliable and committed to maintaining high standards.
- Understands current health and safety requirements within construction.
- Has a genuine passion for developing people and supporting learners to achieve their potential.
Qualifications & Experience
Ideally, you will have:
- A relevant Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent industry experience in construction/multi-trades.
- Relevant and recent industry experience.
- A recognised teaching or training qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
- An appropriate assessor qualification, where required.
- Experience of delivering vocational training or apprenticeships is desirable.
