£36,517 to £39,921 (EVH Grade 6) | Glasgow | 3 to 6 months temporary contract




Morgan Hunt is recruiting a temporary Finance Officer for a Glasgow housing association.




This is a varied role within an established finance team. You will gain exposure beyond traditional finance administration.




The remit includes payroll, VAT, reconciliations, cash flow and accounts preparation.

Responsibilities

As Finance Officer, you will:

• Process payroll, pension administration and associated statutory returns.
• Prepare bank, payroll and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Support VAT returns, cash-flow forecasts and financial analysis.
• Contribute to monthly management accounts and annual accounts preparation.

You will also maintain financial ledgers and help improve existing procedures.

Essential experience

You should have:

• Practical payroll experience, including associated returns.
• Experience supporting management accounts or annual accounts.
• Strong bank and balance-sheet reconciliation experience.
• Experience developing or improving financial processes.
• Strong numerical, organisational and Excel skills.
• The ability to meet strict deadlines.

You must be comfortable working independently and supporting non-finance colleagues.

Desirable experience

It would be helpful to have:

• AAT or an equivalent accounting qualification.
• Sage Payroll or Capita Open Accounts experience.
• Previous housing, charity or public-sector experience.
• Experience preparing VAT returns.
• Advanced Excel skills.

The organisation

You will join a community-focused housing association based in Glasgow. The finance team supports the organisation's wider housing services and financial responsibilities.




This temporary assignment is expected to last three to six months.
