Revenues Manager

Are you a Revenues Manager looking for work in the East Midlands?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in the East Midlands is looking to recruit a Revenues Manager to lead a department responsible for the billing, collection and recovery of council tax and business rates (NNDR).

This assignment has been deemed inside IR35 and the successful candidate will be required to work on a hybrid basis.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

- Proficiently use the Academy (Capita) Revenues and Benefits Processing System
- Lead a team of Revenues Officers responsible for administering the Billing, Collection, and Recovery of Council Tax and Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR)
- Provide operational management, direction and area expertise
- Allocate work and monitor individual performance
- Carry out staff appraisals, performance reviews, and one-to-ones with all direct reports
- Manage attendance at work including sickness absence
- Prepare detailed reports and undertake statistical analysis as required
- Create and maintain excellent communication channels across the Service and with other colleagues, customers, service groups and external partners or agencies
- Successfully recruit and appoint staff to the team
- Assist in disciplinary issues and carry out management investigations, in accordance with Council policy and procedure
- Ensure liabilities for Council Tax are processed, including discounts and exemptions
- Handle correspondence and contacts from customers relating to Council Tax
- Deal with more complex queries and complaints from customers, members, councillors and MP
- Ensure that all government returns, including performance information, are accurate and submitted in accordance with agreed timescales.
- Communicate effectively with customers and staff
