Contract: 3-month agency assignment
π Hours: 35 hours per week
π’ Working Pattern: Office-based, 5 days per week

π About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Recovery Worker to join a busy community-based drug and alcohol service in Southend-on-Sea on an initial 3-month agency contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and compassionate professional with experience supporting individuals affected by drug and alcohol misuse. You will play a key role in delivering front line support, completing assessments and helping service users work towards their recovery goals.
Working within a fast-paced community setting, you will manage your own caseload, contribute to the duty rota and ensure individuals receive appropriate, timely and person-centred support.
π Key Responsibilities
- π Manage a caseload of service users experiencing drug and alcohol-related challenges.
- π Complete assessments to identify individual needs, risks and appropriate support options.
- βοΈ Contribute to the duty rota, responding to service users requiring advice and support.
- π€ Build positive, professional relationships with service users, providing person-centred support throughout their recovery journey.
- π₯ Identify support needs and facilitate appropriate referrals to relevant health, housing and specialist services.
- π» Maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes, assessments and service user records.
- π₯ Work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to support.
- β€οΈ Promote recovery, harm reduction and positive outcomes for individuals accessing the service.
β Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working within a busy community drug and alcohol service.
- Experience managing a caseload and completing assessments.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a duty rota.
- Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, non-judgemental and person-centred approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Availability to work on-site in Southend five days per week.
