This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and forward-thinking engineering professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers. You will be delivering engaging, hands-on teaching across Levels 2-5, working with a diverse cohort of full-time students, part-time learners, and apprentices.

The role will predominantly focus on workshop-based practical delivery, while also contributing to the wider engineering curriculum to ensure learners are fully prepared for industry.

Key duties include:

  • Delivering and assessing Engineering courses across Levels 2-5
  • Teaching specialist BTEC units such as Micro controller Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's)
  • Adapting teaching methods to suit a variety of learning styles and abilities
  • Embedding key themes such as safeguarding, sustainability, equality & diversity, and English & Maths development
  • Working collaboratively with the wider Engineering team including Technicians, Instructors, and Curriculum Leads
  • Providing tutorial and pastoral support to learners to drive achievement and progression

What's on Offer

  • Competitive pro rata salary
  • Opportunity to work in a well-resourced and supportive Engineering department
  • Modern workshop facilities and industry-relevant equipment
  • A collaborative and inclusive working environment
  • The chance to make a real impact on learner's careers and futures
  • Ongoing professional development and support

Requirements

  • Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
  • Strong hands-on workshop/industry experience
  • Knowledge of areas such as micro controllers or PLC systems (desirable)
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Experience delivering or training learners/apprentices (ideal but not essential)
  • Passion for education and developing learners

If you're looking to step into teaching or continue your career within Further Education in a rewarding, hands-on role, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
