About the Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Criminology Lecturer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across a range of criminology topics, inspire critical thinking, and support students in understanding crime, justice systems, and societal impacts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and tutorials in criminology
- Teach topics such as criminal justice, policing, criminal behavior, and crime theory
- Develop and update curriculum materials in line with academic standards
- Assess and evaluate student performance through coursework and examinations
- Provide academic support, mentoring, and feedback to students
- Contribute to research, scholarly activity, and departmental initiatives
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Requirements
- Master's degree (or higher) in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field
- Previous lecturing or teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of criminological theories and justice systems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage diverse student groups
Desirable Skills
- PhD in Criminology or a related discipline
- Research publications or ongoing research activity
- Experience with curriculum design and academic assessment
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Industry experience within criminal justice, law enforcement, or related sectors
