Recovery Officer

Are you a Recovery Officer looking for work in the South West of England or remotely from home?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in the South West of England is looking to recruit a Recovery Officer to provide a recovery and enforcement service for council tax.

This will be a permanent assignment and will offer full time hybrid working.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

- Attending Magistrates' Court monthly to obtain liability orders for unpaid Council Tax arrears
- Agreeing and monitoring payment arrangements with debtors
- Setting up and monitoring deductions from earnings and benefits, liaising with employers and the DWP where appropriate
- Escalating debts to enforcement agencies
- Updating relevant third parties on liability changes affecting outstanding debt, including direct payments
- Responding to customer queries and complaints relating to enforcement activity via telephone, letter, and email
- Preparing cases for higher-level recovery action where appropriate (including charging orders and committal proceedings)
