Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in West London is looking to recruit a Homelessness Prevention Adviser to provide support throughout a busy period.
This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.
We are looking for a dedicated Homelessness Prevention Adviser to provide specialist, tailored advice to individuals and families seeking housing support. This role will focus on homelessness prevention, housing options, welfare benefits, debt management, employment, and wellbeing services. Working closely with the Housing Allocations team, you will help maximize homelessness prevention and ensure that clients can access a range of effective housing solutions.
Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:
- Deliver high-quality, personalized advice to residents at risk of homelessness, ensuring they explore all available housing, training, and employment opportunities.
- Support homeless households, families in insecure accommodation, young people, and those at risk of eviction, developing tailored action plans.
- Work collaboratively with Housing Allocations Services to maximize homelessness prevention and increase access to social and private rental housing.
- Assist clients in navigating the benefits system, providing advice on Universal Credit, rent arrears, Discretionary Housing Payments (DHP), and debt relief options.
- Work with landlords, social services, legal teams, job centers, and housing associations to provide holistic housing solutions.
- Ensure that all advice and interventions align with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, Housing Act 1996 (Part VII), and council policies.
- Maintain accurate client records using Jigsaw, Northgate, Locata, or similar housing management systems.
