Housing Benefit Overpayment Officer

They have a Debt initiative on the horizon as they look to recovery or write off £60-70m worth of debt across Council Tax, HB Overpayments, Sundry and Adult Social Care.

To do this, they are looking to recruit 20 staff. They have a resilience contract with NEC so 10 of these will be supplied by them.

He's looking to recruit 10 x Officers on a temporary basis to start from January for 6 months which will be broken down in to:

• 4 x IWorld Council Tax Officers
  
• 3 x IWorld HB Overpayments
  
• 2 x Adult Social Care Debtor (using Abacus)
  
• 1 x Sundry Debtor (Using Orcale)
  
  The work involves case review for referral to external sols or referral to debt collection agencies with associated monitoring and system updates etc.
  
  He has a budget of £250,000 for this, so £25,000 per candidate which break down to £26.70 all in inclusive of our margin and Comensura's. He's happy to pay candidates at different rates.
  
  Candidates work 36 hours a week and are usually required to attend the office at the Civic centre 3 days per week.
  
  All the jobs will be released through Comensura.
  
  He's waiting for approval of his business case.
