
Legal Cashier
Pentagon Talent have partnered with a top 100 UK law firm in their search for a Legal Cashier. This is a superb opportunity to join a supportive finance team within a highly regarded legal practice. You'll be one of six members of the cashiering function, ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the firm's financial processes that underpin a wide range of legal services.
This role offers agile working, and the team currently operate on a 5 day a week from home basis with occasional adhoc travel to either the Leeds, Birmingham or Colchester office.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Cashier
- Posting daily office bank receipts and resolving remittance queries
- Processing CHAPS and BACS payments from the office account
- Conducting daily bank reconciliations
- Liaising with fee earners to manage matter and residual balances
- Supporting the Cashier Supervisor with accounting queries and tasks
- Making best use of the firm's accounting systems to drive efficiency
- Contributing to ad hoc tasks and projects as directed by the Operations Manager
Essential Skills & Experience for the Legal Cashier:
- At least five years' experience in a Legal Cashier role within a law firm
- Strong knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Experience using legal accounting software (e.g. Partner 4 Windows)
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative approach
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
